This is a special episode to go with the Come Follow Me program's extra thoughts about Temple and Sacrifice. Kerry explores with Rabbi Jarrod Grover how the temple was about creating a relationship with God, and about overcoming what happened in the Garden of Eden. They also look at the Tree of Life symbolism and how God wants to be with us and we want to be with Him, and how God walks among us when we go to the temple. Then Kerry and Rabbi Joe Charnes talk about how temples are about holy encounters, such as holy encounters with place and with God, and how we must make place for the holy, and for God, within us. Then Kerry explores the tabernacle as a model for our journey to be with God again, drawing on symbolism and making room for Christ to make us new and like Him.

| 0:00.0 | Hello and welcome to a special episode of the scriptures are real. This is where they ask us to do some extra thoughts every now and then. We didn't want a covenant before. I love talking about |
| 0:21.8 | the covenant, and that ties in very closely with what they want us to talk about this time, which are |
| 0:27.1 | sacrifices and the temple. And I love these topics. It's so fantastic. So thank you for being |
| 0:33.6 | with us today. And make sure you catch this special episode. We hope you'll also do |
| 0:38.7 | the regular episode. Both of them are fundamental. You won't get so many things in the rest of our |
| 0:42.9 | episodes or the scriptures if you don't do both of these. We're going to talk about specific |
| 0:47.0 | sacrifices when we get to Leviticus with Dr. Avram Shannon, who is fantastic, and you're going to |
| 0:52.5 | love that. But for now, I really want to |
| 0:56.1 | focus on the temple, but that will bring us to some ideas of sacrifice. So I'm going to talk about |
| 1:01.0 | the temple in a couple of different ways, and then we're going to get to hearing from Rabbi Jared |
| 1:07.8 | Grover and Rabbi Joe Charns, and then I'm going to come through and take us on a journey through the temple. So that's what we're going to do today. It's going to be fantastic, but make sure you get an other episode also. And then on the Patreon, I'm going to go through Egyptian temples. It's just so much fun. And I'm just immersed in all of this right now, revising a temple book and working at temples and working at temple open houses and everything else. |
| 1:30.0 | I love it. |
| 1:30.6 | It's exciting. |
| 1:31.2 | So good, clean fun. |
| 1:32.1 | Thanks for being with us. |
| 1:33.2 | My fantastic audience, thanks for being part of our podcast family. |
| 1:37.1 | Before we get into the rabbis are both going to give you some kind of different ways to think about the temple or the tabernacle. |
| 1:44.2 | But I want to start out with some key essential elements. |
| 1:50.2 | First of all, I'm going to suggest that the temple, ancient and modern temples, all ancient |
| 1:55.2 | temples and our modern temples are what we might call an archetypal journey. |
| 1:59.9 | They are about the journey that we are on |
| 2:03.0 | to be with God again. If I were to summarize the gospel in a nutshell, I would say we have left |
