So we're going to begin the books of first and second chronicles today.

We are going to walk through some things that are going to sound pretty familiar

because this has some overlapping content with other books. We're going to learn about the things that are going to sound pretty familiar because this has

some overlapping content with other books.

We're going to learn about the reigns of King Solomon, King David, and then a whole lot of

other kings as we have in past books.

I have a couple of questions, though.

Why do we have First and Second Chronicles as a part of scripture when they're retelling some things that we've already covered?

And then for anyone who's already completed today's reading, I have a question specifically about today's reading.

And that is, I mean, these are three full chapters of genealogies and we're not done.

We have more tomorrow.

So why does First Chronicles begin with so many genealogies and we're not done. We have more tomorrow. So why does

first chronicles begin with so many genealogies? Yeah, it's so good, Sheldie. Like, I used to want to do the same thing about chronicles. When you get to it, it's like, okay, we're going to start again from the last several books. I'm reading it. It just feels like a retelling of the story, but kind of a less interesting retelling of the story.

Like we get all these genealogies.

But when I just started to, like, study this book more, learn, like, why it was written, who it was written to, like, my love for it just started to skyrocket. I love these books. I'm so glad to hear that you love these books. You are the right people to lead us through them.

Why don't we just jump in then,

and you can kind of maybe give us the lay of the land

as we enter first and second chronicles.
