Hey, this is Shelby and Paul.

0:07.0

We are wrapping up the book of Second Kings.

0:10.6

We've been on quite the journey throughout the books of first and second kings together.

0:15.8

We've learned a lot.

0:16.8

We've been challenged, convicted.

0:18.6

We've seen the Lord's faithfulness.

0:20.2

So take us through these last

0:21.8

few chapters, Paul, chapters 22 through 25. Yeah. At the end of yesterday's reading, we met Manasse,

0:28.5

another king. And he comes onto the scene right after Hezekiah, who was very positive as we saw.

0:36.1

And basically just undoes everything. Hezekiah did. Unfortunately,

0:40.3

it says he led as Israel to do worse evil than the nations the Lord had destroyed. So he's got

0:46.0

to just like going back on everything Hezekiah did. However, we get another good king right

0:51.4

at the end. We get Josiah, and he repairs the temple. And in the process,

1:12.9

and destroy high places, just like Hezekiah did. And so there's a critical thing in here I want to point out, too, is that they observe the

1:18.3

Passover. And that's something that we haven't seen in the entire book. It's been a long time.

1:24.4

It's been a lot of years of kings. No Passover mentioned, right? The one thing God told them to do every year to remember their identity, remember the salvation of the Exodus. And so finally, Josiah is bringing that tradition back. And so, you know, it kind of makes me think of the golden calf. You know, it's like, well, if they had maybe remembered why they were brought out of Exodus, you know, the Exodus, they would have torn down the golden calf, you know, it's like, well, if they had maybe remembered why they were brought

1:45.8

out of Exodus, you know, the Exodus, they would have torn down the golden calves that they had built

1:48.9

for themselves. But alas. Alas. Yes. Okay, so Josiah comes in. He's reforming everything. It really,

1:58.0

it is a very cool moment to behold in scripture. What does all that reform amount to?

2:04.2

Is there change in the nation? Yeah, so there is change, but unfortunately, they're already kind of on
