0:38.6	talking about both of this week's passages, Zechariad 9-9 and John 12 through 16. We will spend
0:44.6	our time discussing how these passages both connect to each other and how they point us to Christ.
0:49.9	So Beth, why don't you start off that conversation? Yeah, sure. So the passage from John does some of the legwork for us when making these connections.
0:58.1	John explicitly connects Jesus' act of entering the city on the cult to Zechariah's prophecy.
1:03.2	So we can then conclude that everything said about the coming king in Zechariah 9-9 can be said of Christ.
1:08.4	He is righteous and victorious, and he is humble. He is the long-awaited
1:12.2	king who has come to Jerusalem to save and deliver his people. I don't think I will ever get enough
1:17.6	seeing Old Testament prophecy is fulfilled in the New Testament. It's just incredible to see God
1:22.3	fulfill what He's promised through Christ. So how exactly will Jesus deliver his people?
1:31.1	Yes, so this is why this little detail about the donkey is so important. When Jesus came into Jerusalem, he was welcomed by a crowd who was praising him and proclaiming him to be king.
1:37.5	But he rise to town on a donkey to signify his humility. All of this points us toward the way that he would
1:43.6	demonstrate his righteousness and achieve his victory. It wasn't actually us toward the way that he would demonstrate his righteousness
1:44.6	and achieve his victory. It wasn't actually through military exploits or through a great war.
