0:36.1	with my co-host, Beth. Hi, friends. We're
0:38.4	excited to dive deeper into Joshua 21, 43 through 45 with you all today. Yes. So, Beth, do you
0:45.0	want to start us off by telling us where this passage fits in the biblical story? Of course.
0:49.5	So the passage that we're studying this week comes toward the end of the book of Joshua.
0:53.7	So after Joshua had brought the second generation of Israelites into the promised land,
0:58.0	and they had defeated the Cadenites who were living there,
1:01.0	and they were finally settling down in the land that God had given them.
1:05.0	As this passage says, they were finally given rest.
1:08.0	And so what this moment is is it's fulfilling all that God has been doing in
1:12.5	Israel since he called Abraham back in Genesis 12. And so we see that the people of Israel have
1:19.5	already become a great nation, which actually began in Exodus when we saw that their numbers had
1:25.3	grown and they had become a great people instead of just a small family.
1:30.2	And then they were enslaved in Egypt and then they were delivered from that slavery and taken to the land that God had reserved for them.
1:37.2	But they were outside of that land for a while.
