Welcome to a year in the Bible with Daily Grace.

0:03.0

This year we want to spend a few minutes with you every day walking through our study Christ and all of Scripture.

0:09.0

Each week we will dive deeply into two passages of Scripture, one from the Old Testament and one from the New,

0:15.0

seeing how they connect and point to Jesus.

0:17.0

Whether you are doing the study yourself or just following along with us here, we are

0:21.7

hopeful that through studying these passages each week, you will see how Christ is not only present

0:26.6

throughout the entire biblical story, but the center of it. Hi, everyone. Welcome to another

0:32.9

episode of a year in the Bible. I'm Beth and I'm here with my co-host Alexa. Hi friends. Today we're going to look at our annotations for this week's New Testament passage,

0:41.5

Hebrews 4, 5 through 11. That reads, again in that passage, he says,

time. Today, if you hear his voice, do not harden your hearts. For if Joshua had given them rest,

1:07.1

God would not have spoken later about another day. Therefore, a Sabbath rest remains for God's people.

1:13.0

For the person who has entered his rest has rested from his own works, just as God did from his.

1:18.3

Let us then make every effort to enter that rest so that no one will fall into the same pattern of disobedience.

1:24.9

So, Beth, how did you annotate this passage?

1:29.4

So when I started these annotations,

1:34.2

I was actually very surprised at how difficult the first prompt identifying words or phrases that point to Christ was for me. After thinking about it for a while and then looking at the chart that's in

1:39.9

Appendix A of Volume 2 of the study, which you can find on pages 196 and 197. I was able to

1:47.5

actually identify some things. So I ended up highlighting the phrase, a certain day today at the

1:53.7

beginning of verse 7. And similarly, the phrase about another day in verse 8. And then last I highlighted a Sabbath rest in verse 9,
