Alexa. Hi friends. This week we are looking at Joshua 21 43 through 45 and Hebrews 4 5 through 11.

And we're going to discuss how Jesus brings us rest. Today we are talking about our annotations on

Joshua 21 43 through 45, which says, so the Lord gave Israel all the land

he had sworn to give their ancestors, and they took possession of it and settled there.

The Lord gave them rest on every side according to all that he had sworn to their ancestors.

None of their enemies were able to stand against them, for the Lord handed over all their enemies enemies to them none of the good promises the lord had me to the house of israel failed everything was fulfilled so beth would you tell us your annotations on this passage

i really enjoyed annotating this passage to start i'll share the words or phrases that i thought pointed to christ. First, I highlighted the word rest in verse 44, because it reminded me of Matthew 11 where Jesus says, come to me all who are weary and heavy laden and I will give you rest. And then I also highlighted the last phrase of the passage, which is everything was fulfilled. Because it reminded me just the general theme of this study, which is that all things

in the Old Testament are ultimately fulfilled through Christ. Yeah, those are some great connections.

I really like that connection to Matthew 11. I feel like whenever rest comes up in scripture,

I think of that verse pretty often. Are there any other annotations you want to discuss?

Yeah, I think that my favorite prompt this time around was the one that said to circle any repeated words. This was

always a good thing to make note of when reading scripture generally because ancient writers

typically repeat things that they want to emphasize. So in this passage, I circled the words
