who Jesus is changes everything.

Welcome back to a year in the Bible with daily grace. My name is Kristen Schmucker.

Today we are journeying through the New Testament in a year and we are in the book of

Romans today studying Romans chapter six.

So far in Romans we have seen Paul anticipate questions from critics and address them quite

directly just as he did in Romans 3 when he shared that though

circumcision and the law do not save there is value in Jewish heritage because God's

word was first given to the Jews. Similarly, in Roman 6, Paul anticipates backlash and is

answering this backlash. He helps us understand what it means to become a new creation in Christ.

In Romans 520, Paul says the law came along

to multiply the trespass, but where sin multiplied,

grace multiplied even more. The argument Paul is anticipating is if

sin makes grace multiply can we sin more so that there's more grace? Think

about when you were a kid in school

and you had a substitute teacher.

Some kids will take full advantage of the sub

who might relax the rules a bit.

All of a sudden, the kids are talking her into watching a movie in class and not assigning homework.

But there's no room to take advantage of Grace.
