We are working our way through the New Testament one chapter at a time. As a reminder, I am using the free behold reading plan

Today is the last day of week one's reading, and I am so excited that we are already

completed our first week.

Today we are diving into Matthew 5 and we're beginning a few days that are set aside to study

the Sermon on the Mount. The Sermon on the Mount is Jesus's longest recorded Serbun. It is found in Matthew 5 through 7 and is one of the most beautiful

and well-known portions of scripture. It would be easy for us to read this beautiful sermon as a

to-do list for how we can be better people.

But that is not the point of this message.

The point of the sermon is that this is who Jesus is, and it is the life that believers live through the power of the Spirit.

Martin Lloyd Jones beautifully said, it not only states the demand, it points to the supply,

live but about how we can know love and follow in the steps of the giver of life.
