Luke 18 begins with the parable of the persistent widow.

Before we are even introduced to the persistent widow,

we are introduced to the evil judge.

We are told that he did not fear God or respect people. We are

definitely given the impression that he is just not a nice guy. We are not

told exactly why the woman was coming, just that she was seeking justice from him due to

The woman did not give up, and eventually because the woman was so persistent to come to

him, the evil judge gives into her request.

It is important to understand that the evil judge in no way represents God.

Instead, this is another instance of Jesus using this how much more type parable.

If this evil judge was willing to give because of this woman's persistence,

how much more does our loving father who is always just answer when his children call to him?
