| 0:00.0 | Hello and welcome to Colors of the Dark. |
| 0:25.2 | I'm your co-host Rebecca McKendry. |
| 0:26.9 | And with me, he has a film coming out in just a couple of weeks. |
| 0:30.7 | The trailer dropped today, Elric Kane. |
| 0:33.3 | Wow, that's more self-promotion than I'm capable of. |
| 0:36.2 | I know, I know. |
| 0:37.1 | You'll never do it. If it was up to Elric, no one who actually listens to the show would ever know he has a movie. I even love the trailer, but almost posted when I post the trailer, almost wanted to write, but don't watch it. Because I want you to be watching the movie. But I actually genuinely think Shutter did an amazing job with trailer, made it super fun. Made me want to rewatch it. And I've seen it 100 times. More than that. I would easily think more than that. By the time, you could have a film. But no, it was a fun trailer. They did a good job with little Mr. X and stuff. So I'm excited. Yeah. So good for them because that's going to be scary. |
| 1:19.9 | As filmmakers, you know, you don't want somebody to misrepresent your thing too dramatic in a way where you don't think it can recover, you know, which happens all the time with trailers. |
| 1:20.4 | Oh, yeah. |
| 1:21.1 | Oh, yeah. |
| 1:22.3 | So that was a good one. |
| 1:23.2 | So I was happy about that. |
| 1:26.1 | So we are deep in January. |
| 2:21.5 | So January in the industry is kind of infamous for not having a lot of good releases. And so it's just kind of like got this weird vibe always of like, you know, that's where, you know, you're not going to get the best horror films in January. But I watched a couple of things this week, including the one that we're going to talk about with our guest companion that I was like, licensely surprised. Yeah, companions are really good, really solid movie and really fun and surprising. So we'll talk about that in the second half because we both watched that a few days early and got a great talk coming up for that. But yes, it does have that reputation. And so I was looking at this January, February this year going, wow, honestly, all the things I most want to see this year, again, a lot of the stuff that I want to see probably hasn't been announced or what we even know about. But a lot of them were in this period. So I was like, oh, this is a good sign. And starting with Wolfman, I was very excited. Lee is two for two prior to this, like with his two directorial films, |
| 2:27.2 | both, you know, somewhat contained versions of bigger stories that, you know, he really kind of hit out of the park. And with Wolfman, we mean you went to see it on Friday. |
| 2:33.3 | We went Friday night. |
| 2:34.3 | And I would say this is a swing and a miss, unfortunately. |
| 2:37.9 | Yeah, this one is a little harder for me. |
| 2:41.4 | You know, there was so much at the beginning of this that I loved. |
| 2:44.6 | And we are actually about to talk about single location horror films, which is what this essentially is. |
| 2:50.5 | Like we start in a city |
| 2:52.8 | and within a couple of minutes, it's okay, we're going to go to this house in the country. |
