And with me is Elric Kane.

The hills of Los Angeles are burning. It's kind of an edgy night here. Elric, how are you doing? It is. I mean, I'm a little way from that, those fires, so I'm not seeing it the way you're seeing it. But it is a little, it's a little intense here. Yeah, I definitely now have it on two sides. So if I look out my windows of my house going one way, I see the

Altadina fire and another way I now see the sunset fire. Well, we were meant to tape last night

1:34.8

and we couldn't because the fire started. I didn't have power last night. The winds were insane

LA that comes close to what we're seeing right now. Yeah. My very first year here, which would

have been 2012, I remember that there was a bad fire over Sherman Oaks area. And I remember

that one being kind of intense. And then a couple of years after that, the Burbank Hills burned.

1:59.7

And that one felt wild because it felt like I was sitting in like a pit of hell because the hills around me were all on fire.

2:05.6

But even that was not nearly as scary as what's been going on because of the sheer breadth and size of what's been going on.

2:13.2

It's very, I remember because Santa Clarita had a few, but being on freeways and looking to your left, you're on the street on a freeway and just seeing fire is a very surreal thing. Like you're driving, but there's just actively fires right next to you, like on freeways. I remember that at one point just being like, oh, I don't think this is how it's meant to be. I don't think we're meant to function in this. It's intense. It's intense, but we're doing our best, and both of us are safe right now and not in danger. If we were, we would not be podcasting. And Ernie, our sound engineer, he's down in Culver City, so he's doing great right now as well. Just we're keeping an eye on some stuff.

2:51.6

But yeah, Elric. Even if the building was on fire, that guy. I know. Ernie is that dedicated, right? We'd make him. We'd show up and be like, get your butt out here, Ernie. We're leaving. But Elric, you had a whole holiday break and you did not watch a damn thing. I watched them. Yeah, I read a bunch of books, which was great.

I was in Mexico, and I had 17.
