I don't know if you hear it a little bit in my voice. I have a little

cold, a little sniff and you know one thing I will always say is if there's anything I come with to this

podcast to you is authenticity and although this work keeps me from getting sick like most of the time. I don't think it's been a couple years since I've even had a cold.

We can talk more about that a minute, but once in a while, high stress time, not enough time for journal speak, family, holidays, stress always leads to a couple poor nights of sleep. I got a little bit of a cold.

It entered through the back door and it's fine. I mean, I'm totally managing it, but if you hear it in my voice, that is the truth.

I will talk for a moment about your immune system just before we kick into the rest of the show. Your immune system is affected greatly by the stress you are under and the amount of time you spend in fight or flight.

It's just, you know, your immune system is affected by the amount of cortisol and

adrenaline that is flooding your body, which of course are the hormones that you

receive when you are under stress and your brain and your nervous system feel that it is time to fight flee or freeze or fawn.

And so when you are doing this work on a daily basis and putting your ladle in that of most emotional reservoir and dumping it out, you will find yourself less and less likely to contract anything.

Many, many times I lived through my kids having colds or flus or,

or, you know, any sort of thing that they could catch and I just I'm in the house with them and I just don't catch it.

Interestingly enough, my daughter had the full-on flu last week. I't catch that, but I did get a little cold.

So I'm on like the third day of it.
