0:11.0	This year we will fix our gaze upon Christ so that we may know
0:14.8	him, not only with our minds but with our hearts. Together we will learn that
0:19.1	who Jesus is changes everything. Welcome back to a year in the Bible with daily grace.
0:26.0	My name is Kristen Schmucker and we are journeying through the New Testament and today we jump
0:31.2	back into the book of Colossians.
0:33.0	As a reminder, I'm using the Behold Studies from the Daily Grace Co,

0:42.0	Today's passage begins with a reminder that Jesus is all that
0:46.3	we need. Paul points the young Kalashin Church to the truth that our salvation is accomplished
0:52.4	by God alone.
0:54.3	Paul wants the believers to be strengthened in their faith
0:57.6	so that they could stand firm in a world that is speaking lies.
1:02.2	I love how Paul points out that the message of the world may even
1:05.7	seem plausible or compelling, but plausible arguments in human logic are not our
1:11.6	standard of truth. Our standard of truth is the living word of God. Paul desires them to know the truth
1:18.6	so that they can stand against the lies of the enemy. I love the message of verses six and seven that tells us
1:25.4	that just as we have received Christ we are to continue to walk in him
1:29.2	being rooted and built up in him. These verses provide a beautiful bridge between the message of who Jesus is that we read in Chapter 1 and the practical instruction that we will see in the rest of the book.
