0:00.0	Welcome to a year in the Bible with daily grace. My name is Kristen and my name is Katie and we want to spend a few minutes a day with you walking through the New Testament one chapter at a time.
0:11.0	This year we will fix our gaze upon Christ so that we may know
0:14.9	him, not only with our minds but with our hearts. Together we will learn that
0:19.1	who Jesus is changes everything.
0:22.0	Hi friends we are back for another day of a year in the Bible of Daily Grace.
0:28.0	I am so excited you've joined us.
0:30.0	We are almost finished with the Book of Acts in our year-long journey through the
0:34.4	New Testament. Can you believe it? Today, we will read Acts 27, and tomorrow we will finish
0:41.1	Luke's account of the early church in Acts 28.
0:44.3	After at least two years of imprisonment by Rome in Caesarea,
0:49.0	Paul appealed his case to be heard by Caesar or the Roman Emperor.
0:53.0	Jesus had told Paul that he would preach the gospel in this city,
0:56.0	the largest city in the world at the time.
0:59.0	And today, Paul will finally begin his journey there,
1:02.0	but it's not an easy one.
1:05.1	We will read about a ship struggling out at sea, but the underlying current carrying Paul
1:10.6	is his faith.
1:12.0	Jesus has told him that he would preach the Gospel in Rome and
1:15.2	so no matter what trial came before him on route there he knew that God would
1:20.8	deliver him. He had faith that what Jesus said will be. I think this faith, this
1:26.2	trust in Christ's word, is something that we can all behold today. But I don't want us to
1:31.5	behold Paul's faith, though it is admirable.
