Welcome to a year in the Bible with daily grace. My name is Kristen and my name is Katie and we want to spend a few minutes a day with you walking through the New Testament one chapter at a time.

This year we will fix our gaze upon Christ so that we may know

him, not only with our minds but with our hearts. Together we will learn that

who Jesus is changes everything.

Hey friends we are so glad to have you back for another day of reading in the New Testament.

My name is Katie and this is a year in the Bible with Daily Grace.

We are reading the New Testament in a year and we are currently in the book of

Acts. Let's dive in to Chapter 20. So far we have broken down Paul's first and second

missionary journeys, but today we study his third missionary journey.

It might be helpful to Google a map of Paul's third missionary journey so that you can keep up with

where we are and where Paul is heading.

The word encourage or encouragement is used twice in the

first two verses, really kicking off this chapter and rounding out the goal of

Paul's last push of ministry.

From Ephesus, located in Asia Minor,

Paul travels down to Macedonia or modern day Greece.

Luke records Paul offering many words of encouragement

to these churches, and then he travels south to southern Greece, likely stopping in Corinth.

Scholars believe that this is where he wrote Romans, the letter to the Roman Church. Pretty cool, right? It seems as if Paul is

planning to return to Antioch, his missionary home base in Syria, but a plot by the Jews

interrupt his plans and as we will see all of this is in God's hand

for the Holy Spirit has different plans for Paul. We will get to those in just a moment
