0:41.0	Before we begin, I want to ask you a question. Have you ever spent time with a
0:45.8	loved one who was expected to pass away soon? I can imagine you treasure these last moments. What
0:52.3	were they like? Were they filled with encouragement?
0:54.7	Maybe you shared a few memories. I'm sure there were tears, perhaps even laughter.
0:59.9	If your loved one could speak, I'm sure they shared with you meaningful words that they wanted you to hold on to.
1:07.0	And this week, as we study 2 Timothy, this is the kind of tone we will hear from some of Paul's final words to his beloved son in the faith,
1:15.2	Timothy. The tone is both personal and passionate, as Paul imparts his wisdom, his desire for
1:21.0	Timothy's perseverance in the faith,
1:23.0	and Paul's confidence that enduring for the sake of the gospel
1:26.0	is worth the cost.
1:28.0	Church tradition holds that Paul wrote 2nd Timothy
1:31.0	from a prison cell in the maritime prison in Rome about 4 years after he wrote First Timothy.
1:37.0	He is in chains, held as a prisoner preaching to the Gospel.
