0:28.6	to walk with you through Second Thessalonians
0:31.1	in our year-long study through the New Testament.
0:33.7	Today we finish up 2nd Thessalonians by studying chapter 3.

0:44.9	So far in Second Thessalonians Paul has encouraged this body of new believers
0:50.1	by pointing them beyond the persecution they are experiencing to the hope that
0:55.2	they have in Christ. As Paul encourages them, he combats false teaching spreading
1:00.0	amongst the church, false teaching that the day of the Lord has already come.
1:05.0	This, of course, is not true.
1:07.0	To prove it, Paul provides a few examples of what must happen before Christ returns.
1:12.0	The bottom line is that the Thessalonians have hope. what must happen before Christ returns.
1:12.5	The bottom line is that the Thessalonians have hope that is secure.
1:16.6	Their salvation is secure in Jesus.
1:19.6	One day, he will come back for them,
1:21.4	and evil will be defeated. That's where we find ourselves today.
