0:33.0	Today we are studying Second Thessalonians too.

0:43.0	Yesterday, Paul encouraged the Thessalonians to persevere through persecution
0:47.5	by setting their mind on the Second Coming of Christ,
0:51.0	when one day God would judge their persecutors and they would finally experience the relief of Christ's
0:56.8	eternal presence of peace.
0:58.9	Today, Paul addresses false teaching sneaking into the church attempting to squash this future hope.
1:06.0	Teaching that was actually being spread in Paul's name.
1:10.0	This is teaching that has prompted Paul to write so urgently to the Thessalonians again after his first letter to them.
1:17.0	Paul wants nothing to hinder the hope of the Thessalonians.
1:21.0	So what was this false teaching being spread? The false teachers
1:25.8	were spreading lies that the day of the Lord, that is Christ's return, had already come.
1:31.2	Can you imagine how disappointing this would be to a young church? They are
1:35.3	enduring persecution, daily laboring for Christ, and if he has already returned,
