Hi, welcome back to a year in the Bible with Daily Grace. My name is Katie, and together we are

walking through the New Testament in a year. Currently, we are studying First Corinthians, so today

we will be in First Corinthians 16, the final chapter. As always, you can follow along with the Behold studies in the Daily Gracecoe Shop,

Today, Paul closes his letter to the Corinthians.

He shares instructions for the collection of the church in Jerusalem,

updates the Corinthians on his travel plans, and shares greetings, all underscored

with the same themes Paul has thread throughout his letter, order, honor, and love.

First, Paul answers the question from the Corinthians about how they should collect an offering

for the church in Jerusalem. Paul lays out orderly instructions, the same instructions that he gave to the Galatian Church. Collect on the first day of the church in Jerusalem. Paul lays out orderly instructions the same instructions

that the church gathered for worship. Paul also instructs that all believers should give, but he doesn't

specify an amount. Instead, he says, each of you is to set something aside and save it in keeping with how he is

prospering. In other words, give out of accordance with your means. Paul also desires that the

collection be completed by the next time he visits, so that he can promptly send the chosen men to

Jerusalem to deliver the funds. Paul empowers the believers with wisdom,

wisdom that they can use to administer the collection and deliver the funds themselves,

and possibly even Paul may join them in their travels to the Holy City. Next, Paul proclaims his
