Welcome to a year in the Bible with daily grace. My name is Kristen and my name is Katie and we want to spend a few minutes a day with you walking through the New Testament one chapter at a time.

This year we will fix our gaze upon Christ so that we may know

him, not only with our minds but with our hearts. Together we will learn that

who Jesus is changes everything. Hello friends welcome back to a year in the Bible with daily grace.

My name is Katie and it will be my honor to take you through first and second

Corinthians in the coming week as we continue reading the New Testament in a year,

one chapter at a time.

Today, as we study First Corinthians One,

we will emphasize God's faithfulness

that will never fail us and is all surpassing wisdom that is far greater than our own.

But first, let's dive into First Corinthians as we always do with a little bit of background information.

It's always great when we start a book of the Bible to know the context of what we're reading,

or the who, what, when, where, and why of a book.

So today, we are going to practice the little Bible reading skills.

So the who?

This book was written by the Apostle Paul.

We know him very well through our study of acts and Romans. He was a former

persecutor of Christians whose encounter with Jesus changed his life. He went

from being a persecutor of Christ to a

proclamer of salvation through Christ. He went from trying to destroy Christ's

Church to dedicating his life to building Christ's kingdom.
