Welcome back to the podcast.

Our journey through revelation continues today as we study chapters 12 through 15.

God's wrath and judgment will increase throughout these chapters as the culmination of

Redemptive History approaches. But we do not fear, we hope,

in our glorious Savior. Yesterday, we ended with the blowing of the seventh trumpet and the worship of the elders around the throne.

Next, John sees a scene unfold that reminds us of the plan of redemption, past, present, and future.

This imagery of the salvation story is a picture like we haven't read before in

scripture. The three main characters are a woman, child, and dragon.

The woman who represents the Holy Remnant of Israel gives birth to the child, Jesus, whom the Dragon seeks to destroy.

The Dragon, of course, is Satan.

In this vision, the child is born and brought safely to God's arms and the woman

flees to the wilderness for three and a half years to a place God prepared for her.

Satan is angry in his defeat and war breaks out in heaven.

The arch angel Michael leads the other angels in battle against Satan and his demons and they are defeated yet again and thrown to the earth.

We then read a hymn of praise that breaks out during this apocalyptic time. An unspecified voice praises the Lord through the

redemption brought by the blood of the Lamb. The dragon sets his sights on the

woman in the wilderness and seeks to destroy her.
