| 0:33.0 | It is a lot of ground to cover, but these Psalms will help us remember the Lord's kingship. |
| 0:39.0 | And they will also foreshadow the Davidic covenant, which we will read about tomorrow in 2 Samuel chapter 7. |
| 0:47.0 | As you read these Psalms today, you likely read them in numerical order, which is great. |
| 0:54.0 | But I am going to go in a little different order, so we clearly see the themes of kingship and covenant. |
| 1:02.0 | We talked a great deal about kingship in 1 Samuel, and now as we journey through 2 Samuel and 1 Chronicles, |
| 1:10.0 | covenant becomes a major theme. |
| 1:13.0 | We also want to remember that each of these Psalms were possibly written shortly after the ark came to Jerusalem. |
| 1:22.0 | While kingship and covenant will stand out, so will God's faithfulness to his people and his plan of redemption. |
| 1:30.0 | So let's get started with the two Psalms that remind us of God's kingship, Psalm 96 and Psalm 100. |

| 1:44.0 | If you felt like you read it recently, it's because you did. |
| 1:48.0 | In 1 Chronicles 16, David's Psalm of Thanksgiving that is recorded is a compilation of 3 Psalms, and Psalm 96 is one of them. |
| 2:00.0 | This Psalm is a celebration of God's kingship and reminds the Israelites and believers today that we and all creation are to ascribe honor and splendor to our great God who rules over the earth. |
| 2:14.0 | This Psalm also provides great hope for non-Jews or Gentiles. |
| 2:20.0 | Five times the Psalmist uses whole earth or peoples to make sure we know that God reigns over not just the Jews but all nations, and his salvation is for all people. |
| 2:35.0 | We see this in the 5 verses of Psalm 100 as well. |
