| 1:09.0 | Led by the Spirit, a psalm flowed from their lips and onto parchment. |
| 1:15.0 | These same words used to magnify the Lord so long ago are equally true as we proclaim them today. |
| 1:25.0 | Psalm 22, written by David, is written as a lament for an innocent person who is suffering. |
| 1:33.0 | But despite mockery and disdain, throughout the psalm, David praises the Lord for being near, for sustaining him and for satisfying his soul. |
| 1:45.0 | While this psalm is a comfort to those who suffer, it should remind us of the only truly innocent person to ever walk this earth. |
| 1:55.0 | Jesus, the Son of God, perfect in all his ways, was mocked and ridiculed. |
| 2:02.0 | If anyone had a reason to lament, it was him. |
| 2:06.0 | But the author of Hebrews tells us in Hebrews 12-2, for the joy that lay before him, he endured the cross, despising the shame. |
| 2:18.0 | Jesus knew the psalms, he was the word made flesh, and while on the cross in Matthew 27-46, he cried these words from Psalm 22-1. |
| 2:31.0 | My God, my God, why have you abandoned me? |
| 2:36.0 | Jesus was innocent, yet he faced God's wrath on our behalf. |
| 2:42.0 | Jesus was mocked, yet he pressed on despising the shame to cover us in his blood. |
