Tiffany here and today we take a look at five more Psalms.

Like many of the Psalms we've studied, we don't know for certain when these were written,

but the themes found within them could easily place them in this time period when David's kingdom is being established through his military campaigns.

The first three Psalms will point our hearts toward Thanksgiving while the last two are prayers of individual lament.

But we will see the common thread between them all is God's faithfulness.

We begin with Psalm 65.

This Psalm of Thanksgiving celebrated a season of plenty after a season of drought.

This Psalm specifically speaks to God's role as creator.

David uses the picture of water, streams and showers to depict God's provision and how he sustains his creation.

Even the earth celebrates the goodness and faithfulness of the Lord.

But perhaps the verse that brings us the most joy is verse four, which says,

how happy is the one you choose and bring near to live in your courts?

We will be satisfied with the goodness of your house, the holiness of your temple.

David's satisfaction and hours comes from the very presence of the Lord.

We are satisfied by his goodness and holiness just as the earth is satisfied by the water.

His faithfulness abounds to his children and his creation.

Psalm 66 is also a prayer of Thanksgiving written by an unknown author.
