My name is Tiffany, and I want to spend a few minutes with you every day walking through the Bible chronologically.

Welcome back to the year in the Bible podcast, friends.

Tiffany here, and today we journey through six more Psalms.

Yesterday, we ended with David fleeing from Jerusalem and Absalom taking control of the city.

These Psalms give us a glimpse of the many emotions David felt, his questions and concerns, his prayers for vengeance,

and most importantly, his confidence in the Word.

David had already experienced being on the run once in his life.

And now, as an older and hopefully wiser man, he faces betrayal and pursuit yet again.

As the established and anointed King of Israel, David was likely shocked to flee his home yet again.

But as we read the Psalms today, we can see that David trusted the Lord.

His faith had grown in the face of his trials and sins, and he trusted God's outcome, whatever it may be.

We start with Psalm 3 today.

This was written as an individual limit, and though it applies to any person who faces troubled times,

we clearly see the effects of David's situation with Absalom.

David trusted that the Lord was his shield during his flight from his son, and he knew the Lord was the only one who could sustain him.

1:54.0

David had amassed great wealth, many wives, and military power over many lands, but none of that satisfied or sustained him.

He had seen through the course of his life that salvation came only from the Lord.

This truth enables him not to fear in the face of his troubles.

Believers can trust these truths even today.
