our time in the Psalms as we read the words of worship penned by David. Once again, we don't know specifically

when these Psalms were written, and they likely fit several time periods of David's life. But as we

see the progression of these Psalms today, we can see how they possibly fit in this period just after

Saul's death and as David awaits his kingship over all of Israel.

Within these four Psalms, David will write about the beauty of God's presence in our lives as he provides atonement for our sin, joy in our future inheritance, abundant reward for our obedience,

and celebration for all the Lord has done. We start with Psalm 14. Though short, this Psalm is a powerful

reminder of our sinful natures. Psalm 143 reminds us that all have turned away.

All alike have become corrupt. There is no one who does good, not even one.

This verse is echoed in the New Testament by the Apostle Paul when he shares in Romans 323,
