Today, we journey to Proverbs to learn more from the wisdom God gave to Solomon.

Yesterday, we read about the growth of Solomon's vast empire.

Over the next few days, we will read the remainder of Solomon's wisdom literature in Proverbs and Ecclesiastes.

Then, we will head back to kings and chronicles and read about the final years of Solomon's reign,

which were marked by disobedience.

If you remember from yesterday, we also talked about how we can't serve two masters.

Solomon knew this to be true because we see it clearly in his writing.

But sadly, he won't heed the wisdom God gave him.

This should make us pay even more attention.

When the wisest man to ever walk the earth can fail, we definitely will.

The wisdom we glean from Solomon isn't just for those that lived in the Old Testament period.

This wisdom transcends time, and Jesus taught us what this wisdom looks like in the kingdom of heaven.

As we look at Proverbs 25 through 26 today, we will learn why we must be where the path of the foolish and what makes them foolish.

But first, we need to address what it means when we read in Proverbs 251 that these were the Proverbs assembled by Hezekiah's men.

Proverbs, chapters 25 through 29, were written by Solomon during his reign.

But they were possibly lost and not included in what was compiled shortly after his reign.

The completed book of Proverbs wasn't compiled until 200 years after Solomon's reign,
