0:34.8	Those small, these letters pack a proverbial punch with their exhortation to contend for the faith,
0:41.8	grow in godliness and beware false teachers in our midst.
0:46.8	As followers of Christ, we must continually grow in our knowledge of the Lord through his word.
0:52.8	So we stay alert and guard against the young godly.
0:57.8	Second Peter was written by the Apostle Peter shortly before his martyrdom in Rome.
1:04.8	In these final words from the Apostle, he reminds his general audience that God has equipped believers
1:11.8	with all we need for life and godliness.
1:14.8	He's equipped us to stand firm against false teachers and to look forward with great hope to Christ return.
1:22.8	And these three ways of equipping can be seen in each of the three chapters of Second Peter.
1:29.8	In chapter 1, Peter begins by telling us that through our salvation, God's divine power has given us
1:37.8	everything we need for life and godliness as we await his return.
1:42.8	Not only that, we also share in the divine nature of the Lord.
1:48.8	We are once again the image bearers we were always meant to be.
1:52.8	And we now grow in sanctification by supplementing our faith with goodness, knowledge, self-control, endurance,
