continues as King Sinakarib and his Assyrian army seek to invade Judah.

Similar to yesterday, today's events are found in three places in

scripture. Even though we read 2 Chronicles 32 yesterday, an abbreviated description of today's

events are found there. But for today, our focus will be on the Second Kings and Isaiah

chapters. After the blatant blasphemy and mocking of King Senecaabrebs spokesmen,

Hezekiah's officials return and share the message with him. Though this spokesman had a wrong response,

Hezekiah has a right one. He immediately tore his clothes, covered himself in sackcloth,

and went to seek the Lord in the temple. The right response is always to seek the Lord first. Hezekiah also sent for Isaiah and asked him to beseech the Lord on the nation's behalf. The word of the Lord came through Isaiah and he told Hezekiah not to be afraid. God had a plan, and he was going to put a spirit

within Sinacarib that would cause him to return home, where he would die by the sword.

The king did indeed hear a rumor, and he set out to fight another nation he, quote-unquote, thought, was coming to battle him.

Of course, we know that was the Lord working to move the Assyrian army away from Judah.

The royal spokesman did not seem fooled, though, and he sent a letter on behalf of King Sinaccharid to Hezekiah,
