0:30.6	After a few days in Amos and Isaiah, today we return to the historical narratives of
0:36.4	second chronicles and second kings.
0:39.4	A lot of events are going to unfold over the next few days of our reading.
0:43.6	As prophecies will be fulfilled, Israel will go into captivity and Judah will stand alone.
0:50.6	We will clearly see that God keeps all His promises, the promises of blessing for obedience,
0:58.0	and the promises of curses for disobedience, just as we read back in Deuteronomy.
1:04.3	Today will be filled with the consequences for disobedience, but we begin with a reminder
1:10.8	that there were obedient kings who loved the Lord.
1:15.5	That Chronicles 27 is a short chapter, but it speaks to the good reign of Judah's King
1:22.7	Johtham.
1:23.7	Though we don't know much about him, we do know that he did what was right in the Lord's
1:29.3	sight, despite the continued corruption of the people.
1:33.7	Because he didn't waver in obedience to the Lord, God strengthened his position and
1:38.8	he overpowered the Ammonites and strengthened the temple and the wall.
