0:08.8	Thanks for joining. Today, we are in Judges 4 and 5, and I am back in the podcast studio with Emily Hope.
0:15.9	Hello, everyone. Emily, thank you for being here. It's Emily and Emma, the dynamic duo talking about Judges 4 and 5.
0:24.5	Deborah, I'm going to let you just jump right in and take it away.
0:27.6	Okay, well, this is such a fun couple chapters to read. So as a whole, we should remember that the book of judges is one that we should not emulate. But then when we get to
0:39.4	four and five, we see just kind of a bright light in Deborah. And what I love about her is that
0:45.7	Deborah just confidently trusts in the Lord. She uses her gifts. She fully obeys God. And she repeats
0:52.1	what she hears from the Lord. And that is just so different
0:54.3	from what was happening in the rest of the book of judges, because everyone was doing what was
0:58.8	right in their own eye. Give me those three again. She... Yeah, she confidently trusts in the
1:03.0	Lord. She uses her gifts. She fully obeys God, and she repeats what she hears for the Lord.
1:09.7	That's because she's a prophetess repeating what she hears from the Lord.
1:12.9	But-
1:13.0	Checks out.
1:13.7	Yeah.
1:15.3	But what I love about her is that she's just confidently trusting in God in everything
1:20.0	that she does.
1:22.2	She gave God the glory.
1:24.1	And because of that, God is the one who brought the victory to Israel by using
1:28.4	Barrick and leading the charge. So I know when a lot of people read this chapter, they ask
1:34.2	the question of like, oh, a female judge, what do we do with that? Love that they're thinking
1:39.2	that. Nothing. But that's not the point of this chapter. This is just supposed to show what it is to confidently follow the Lord and what does it look like to fully obey him.
