Tiffany here, and today we finish Firstst John and study 2nd and 3rd John. Across these

chapters we will be reminded to remain in Christ. He is the source of truth and

enables us to battle against those who teach false doctrine and

walk in sin.

We abide in Christ displaying his sacrificial love to each other.

Yesterday, we ended our time discussing

how our love for God reveals itself in word and in action.

The Apostle John will continue speaking about the love of God in chapter 4.

But first, in these several verses of chapter 4, John returns to the subject of false teachers or anti-Christs. These verses lead us to ponder

if we are following the false teachers of this world, or are we following Christ? Are we following a spirit of deception or the

spirit of truth? John reminds us that for those who follow Christ we are indwell by the Holy Spirit, which is the Spirit of Truth.

We rest in the certainty of 1st John 4.4 which says, you are from God, little children, and you have conquered them, because the

one who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world. Christ has conquered the spirit of deception,
