Summary

In this episode we pick up where we left off last week. After Chris Bynum signed his first statement, he was booked into the jail. The next day "Shakey" gave a statement of his own. What happened next, led the Chris being sent to prison for the rest of his life for a crime he didn't commit.

Last week, I introduced you to Chris Bynum for the first time since we began covering this case.

I told you the story of how he ended up in the interrogation room to begin with, and you got to hear his first statement, word for word.

Today, we're going to continue on with Chris's story, picking up where we left off last week and moving all the way through to his second and final police statement. To recap, this is the

story as we know it up to now. In the early morning hours after the murders occurred, supposedly

a tip came into police. The tip suggested that Chris, a guy known as shaky,

and a guy named Terrell, were all involved in the killings. Shortly after that,

12-year-old Larry Brooks was taken to the police station to give a witness statement. According to

Larry, not only is a lot of what is contained in the transcript of that statement fabricated,

but just as disturbing, he swore under oath that prior to giving that statement,

an officer told him that Chris Bynum was guilty, that he had already confessed to the murders.

Then, about 24 hours later, Chris's fiancé, Shanita, was picked up by police.

She helped detectives locate Chris.

Once he was brought in, Shanita was kept in custody during Biden's lengthy interrogation.

Chris was picked up around noon or before, and according to the timestamps in the transcript,

he finished giving his statement around midnight.
