Today we're in Nogaro.

Where are we from?

We're in the circuit in Nogaro, that's a model racing race course.

It's one of the oldest circuits in tracks in France, actually.

It started to be really operative in the 1960s.

I mean, in this shape, it's now its called Paul Armagnac,

which is rather raw, I mean, it's named after a local driver

who competed in a number of Grand Prix.

At the time, from the one you had World Championship Grand Prix

and others that were not in the World Championship.

In this case, they were not in the World Championship,

but Paul Armagnac died tragically in Montlering, 1962.

And the circuit took his name.

I mean, he had a typical name of the area,

because as everybody knows, Armagnac is the local drink here

and Paul Armagnac bore the name of the most famous drink of the area.

And the circuit was built itself because it was a response to

the number of casualties in street racing motor racing.

So they built the circuit here at Nogaro and the Tour de France

finished here, and by my reckoning, the first Tour de France stage

to finish on a motor racing circuit since 1989 in Spa,
