Ali and I am one of the hosts of the podcast. Today we'll be looking at John Chapter 7

through 9. In the last episode we explored chapters 4 through 6 and learned that

Jesus desired to share the truth of the Gospel with all people,

even those the rest of the world considered lowly in that time period.

And so should we seek to share the good news with everyone we know and meet.

As we keep reading, we learned that Jesus continued to heal many people and gained many followers,

though some were angry at who he claimed to be and did not trust who he said he was.

He feeds the 5,000 and in doing so points to himself being the bread of life.

It was his body, the bread, and his blood, the wine,

poured out so that we might have eternal life in him if we trust him as our Savior.

Then we wrapped up in discussion that though many more followed him,

others deserted him, unwilling to accept that he was truly the son of God.

We begin Chapter 7, and here Jesus reveals more of who he is.

The chapter begins during the Feast of Booth's, which is also sometimes

called the Feast of Tabernacles. And this feast was an important Jewish holiday

celebrating the harvest and God's protection of his people in the wilderness,

leading them on their journey to the promised land. We read that Jesus called himself a river of living water, and in this we know that he is our true

refreshment. Through him the spring of salvation, would we receive salvation?
