Today we will be looking at the book of John

as we begin with chapters one through three.

You know, John is such an awe-inspiring book

as we look at the person of Jesus and all that he did on this

earth during the last several years of his life.

And this book is for everyone, for non-believers and believers alike, is we are reminded of how who Christ is changes who we are.

Before his birth, all of creation longed for him, and today we long for his return.

John is the fourth gospel following Matthew, Mark, and Luke and as it opens the author

introduces us to our Savior.

We read that he existed before the beginning of creation,

and that through him, everything that is came to be.

He is light in the darkness and when he came to dwell among us

many rejected him.

But for those who do accept him, they become his children, and in doing so, he changes us from the inside out

rulers at the time questioned John's ministry and asked who he was. John explains that he is the messenger the prophets

the next day he introduces him as the Lamb of God, the one who takes away the people's sins.
