0:28.9	the book of Isaiah. My name is Tiffany and I am loving walking through this book with you.

0:38.0	Today we are going to take a look at Isaiah,
0:41.0	chapter 28 through 30. We just ended our time in a long section from
0:47.6	chapter 13 through 27, where we've read about both God's judgment and grace on the world.
0:54.8	We now begin a somewhat new section of Isaiah over the next couple of days as we see God speaking
1:01.0	directly to the historical events that will take place to bring about final
1:06.2	judgment and salvation.
1:08.9	As we have mentioned on this journey, Isaiah teaches us about God's glory and in our chapters today we are
1:15.8	continually reminded of his power over every event in history to bring about his
1:21.2	plan of redemption.
1:23.0	Chapter 28 begins with the word Woe.
1:28.0	We know this to mean that grief and affliction are coming on those being addressed.
1:34.1	Here, the woe is addressed to Samaria, which was the capital of the Northern Kingdom
1:40.1	of Israel.
1:41.8	Their sinful lifestyle will lead them to ruin and it will not be long before they fall to Assyria.
1:49.2	Judah is warned for their sinful lifestyle as well. They must heed the word of the Lord or their
1:56.0	fate will be the same. In light of the prophecy against Israel, Judah seeks an alliance with Egypt.
2:04.0	Instead of trusting the Lord for their salvation, they sought after a military power to save them.
