Isaiah chapter 25 through 27. As we begin, Isaiah 25, verse one, is worth reading to set the tone for our time together.

It says, Lord, you are my God, I will exalt you. I will praise your name, for you have accomplished wonders, plans

formed long ago with perfect faithfulness. Our great God holds all of history in his hands. Nothing comes as a surprise to

him. Everything has a purpose to bring about his plan of redemption. We can trust his perfect faithfulness because

he has proven trustworthy since the beginning of time. This verse is the lens

through which we will continue to view Isaiah as his prophecies proclaim the plans of the Lord.

The remainder of Isaiah, chapter 25, is broken into three sections.

V. 2 through 5 show us that God has a plan to turn even the most violent of nations and people back to him. Yes, there will be discipline and destruction for their

sin, but there will be some who turn in repentance and worship him. Even the vilest offender can turn to Christ and be saved.

The Apostle Paul is such a great example of this for us.

Versus 6 through 10 are some of the most beautiful words used to describe and prophesy of Jesus's

defeat of sin through the resurrection.

Verse 7 speaks of the burial shroud that will be swallowed up.

When Jesus died on the cross and rose again, he defeated death once and for all.
