Welcome to a year in the Bible with daily grace. The Bible tells one big story of

redemption and we want to spend five minutes every day journeying through the Bible from start to finish, and exploring how all of it

points to Jesus. Hey Daily Grace family, Tiffany here and today we walk through Isaiah

chapters 19 through 21 in our year in the Bible podcast. We have covered a lot of ground and

read a lot of woe towards the nations of the earth, but we've also caught

glimpses of hope and salvation along the way. Today is no different and that

shouldn't surprise us because we know our great God is trustworthy and even though

his wrath must be satisfied towards sin, he also desires that all come

close and seek salvation. Isaiah's prophecies declare this again and again.

We are going to break up our chapter a little today.

First, we will chat about the first half of Chapter 19

and what was happening in real time in chapter 20.

As we read Isaiah 19 verses 1 through 15, we read again of God's wrath on yet another nation. This time it is Egypt. Egypt is not new to us in our

biblical history. She is most well known for the captivity of the Jewish nation, the 10 plagues, and the eventual release of God's people

from their 400 years of bondage. Egypt would always be on the periphery of Israel's history.

As the tiny nation of Judah worried about a Syrian invasion,

they were tempted to seek an alliance with Egypt.

But Egypt would face the wrath of God as well.

Judah was not to place her hope in Egypt.

They were called to place their hope and God alone.

God would bring judgment on Egypt because of their great pride in arrogance.

He would destroy every aspect of their society from their economy, religion, and even military.
