Welcome to a year in the Bible with Daily Grace. The Bible tells one big story

0:06.8

of redemption, and we want to spend five minutes every day, journeying through

the Bible from start to finish and exploring how all of it points to Jesus.

Hi friends and welcome back to a year in the Bible with Daily Grace. My name is

0:28.0

Shelby Turner. I'm one of your hosts for this podcast and today we're going to talk

0:31.3

about chapters seven through nine of the book of Hebrews. The book of Hebrews is

1:23.4

priest. It says the priestly order of Melchizedek. Now Melchizedek is someone

1:28.7

that we really don't know a whole lot about. He was first mentioned in Genesis

1:33.0

chapter 14 when he blessed Abram who would become Abraham after he defeated

1:38.7

his enemies. Here it says Melchizedek was the king of Salem, which was

1:44.7

probably a shortened version of Jerusalem. So he may have been the king of

1:49.7

Jerusalem and it also says that he was a high priest of God most high. So he was
