Ezekiel chapters 10 through 12. The vision from chapter 9 continues.

Ezekiel is now looking into a heavenly expanse above. There are many important

elements in this portion of his vision. The man in his vision is instructed to gather

coals from between the cherubum and scatter them all over the city. Next there's an

emphasis on the cherubum in their wheels in the same way it was mentioned in chapter one.

However, the faces were described differently.

The chair of them in their wheels rose up from the earth with the glory of God above their heads

and moved to the east side of the temple.

Next the spirit lifts up Ezekiel and seats him at the east gate with the cherubum.

He sees 25 corrupt leaders of the city. The city is about to be destroyed, but they deceivingly speak of the good times ahead.

God instructed Ezekiel to prophesy to them that they will be driven out of the city and beyond the borders.

There they will die by the sword among the Gentiles they have imitated.

While Ezekiel is prophesying one of the men instantly dies as an example of God's serious judgment.

Ezekiel tries to intercede again.

Oh Lord God you are bringing the remnant of Israel to an end.

God gently reminds Ezekiel that his promise still stands and that even though

the people of Israel are scattered among the lands, a remnant will return to Jerusalem and

rebuild it.
