You may recall being in English class,

and you were taught how to properly structure a piece of writing. You were probably told

that you need to have an introduction, a body, and a conclusion and that all these

parts should point to a common theme or main idea. Well, John, who is most likely the author of this book, he didn't

take that class. So sometimes the verses and chapters in this book seem like they just don't flow very well at all.

And the truth is that sometimes they don't. But that doesn't mean that what he is

saying is any less true or any less important.

It just means that we may feel confused at times

and we may need to work a little harder

to find the point that he's trying to make.

But the main point of first drawn is this, Jesus' light and love.

And if we believe in him, then we should reflect his light and love to those around us.
