This is Karen Hunter and welcome to the hub. A couple of years ago I had the pleasure of sitting down with powerhouse comedian Monique.

When she was in the midst of this battle she was having with Netflix and Lee Daniels and

Tyler Perry and Oprah Winfrey and we had a very candid conversation about it.

Well, this past week a judge has said that in Los Angeles, a judge denied Netflix's motion dismiss all of Monique's

pay discrimination retaliation claims.

She sued them and Netflix wanted the suit to be dismissed and the judge in Los Angeles last

Thursday said nope she gets to proceed Monique 52 years old she accused the

entertainment company of racial and gender discrimination for attempting to

underpay her in 2017 for a stand-up special. I predict they're going to cut the check.

I predict it's going to cost them more money to go through

this lawsuit than it is to just pay this woman her money and with all of the

publicity now you know you're going to make your money back. This is sound

business, especially now. So as you listen to the interview and she was

catching a lot of blows from a lot of people she got to have her say on my show and

it was a really funny and insightful and prophetic in so many ways.
