Russia's top arms-controlled diplomat dismissed as fake news and assertion by the United States,

says Reuters, filing from Moscow, that Russia had launched a weapon into low-Earth orbit

that was capable of inspecting and attacking other satellites.

Denies, says the Kremlin. This reminds of February of this year.

Vladimir Putin and then Minister of Defense Shoygu denied an assertion by John Kirby for the Biden administration

that Russia was developing an anti-satellite weapon with a nuclear bomb on board

denied. Two denials.

We come now to, are they talking about the same satellite, different satellites?

These denials don't help us.

evening to. Good evening. I don't know about up there, but they're two different kinds of satellite, anti-satellite weapons that those denials are referring

to.

The first has to do with a system that they've been developing for several years that we've learned about and it's one that

will, if it's put into space, carry a nuclear payload. This nuclear armed anti-satellite weapon or A-SAT was tested

without its nuclear payload, according to the press, about two years ago and that only recently

came out as a result of Congress demanding that it be talked about publicly and
