Adam. Another day. Good morning. That's right.

The first story that's driving the day today in the Washington conversation, some interesting reporting on Russia's Cuba-bound oil tanker. Tell us about what you learned.

Yeah, it's this really fascinating story that I've seen pop up here and there as this oil tanker is making its journey

across the Atlantic, but hadn't really seen anyone sort of look at the broader geopolitical

implications of this, right? So for folks who haven't been obsessively following maritime data,

there is this Russian oil tanker called

the Anatoli Kolochken that is making its way across the Atlantic towards Cuba.

It's worth stating its destination is not listed as Cuba. At one point, it was listed as Atlantis, USA,

but it's pretty darn clear that it's headed to

Cuba, and that is what these maritime analytics firms have determined as well. It is carrying about

730,000 barrels of crude oil. Obviously, this would be a very important lifeline for Cuba, because Cuba, as our

listeners will know, has been under a near

total U.S. oil blockade since January. That's after the Trump administration cut off

Venezuelan oil shipments after the arrest of Venezuelan dictator Nicholas Maduro, of course.

So Cuba now has been in the situation where

its power grid is collapsing. It's had three complete blackouts as a result of the lack of
