So beautiful. They're already starting. This is what we live for. The first story driving Washington's conversation today,

Republicans have ceded the ground on one of their best issues, immigration. Democrats are trying

to turn around their own fumbles and take it back. Megan, we got a fresh look this morning

as we enter week six of the partial government shutdown with DHS ground to a halt. But the

polling that we've got from Searchlight Institute, which is the self-described heterodox democratic think

tank headed and founded by Adam Gentleson, the former aide to Harry Reid, and also John Federman of Pennsylvania. And what this polling does is it undergirds

a new paper and program they're out with Megan this week that looks at all of the mistakes

that Democrats have made on immigration since the Biden presidency and lays out a path to turn

around Democrats dire polling on the issue of

immigration. We know from the latest CBS news polling that Donald Trump is now underwater

on the issue of immigration. And so Democrats say that they need to sort of triangulate him

and actually have a very tough on immigration message and take back this issue, but also kind of avoid the
