this book on creativity. I think that he was talking about a lot of stuff in this podcast

from a couple years back that he's talking about now in the book that he talked about

in 60 minutes and I think it's really fun to hear him as he's starting to codify the

way he wants to talk about these ideas publicly. And I loved this podcast. I think the world

you were on the list I first made when I wanted people. Yeah, like seven years ago when I

started the podcast. Wow. Because my guest today is Rick Rubin, one of the great record

producers of my lifetime. And just a figure I've admired for a really long time for the way

he lives his creative life. And yeah, Rick, from the beginning, you know, you had so many of these

moments I was interested in. I was so curious about certain aspects of the way you think through

the world and feel through the world. So I'm really glad that we're getting to do this now. Thanks

for doing it. My pleasure. And yeah, when I heard a while ago when you told me that you were

listening occasionally, the podcast, I was really psyched about it, you know. And I really enjoy

your podcast. Thank you. The Springsteen episode was very special. He's amazing. Did you find that day

intense at all getting ready for Bruce? Absolutely. Absolutely. And it was, I was going to say it was

different than any other podcast I've done in the way he, usually it's very conversational.

And with him, you ask him a question. And he answers the question. And he answers it in such a

definitive and final way that it doesn't really leave room for more talking about that subject.

So about 20 minutes into it, I felt pretty unprepared because usually it's much more of a casual

conversation. And he has an ability to answer so specifically and so clearly and in depth.
