I'm Jenny Faulkner, club leader, here with one aim, and that is to provide motivation to get you up off the sofa and go for run and hopefully also provide some inspiration by chatting to a guest with a great story to tell.

And I'll tell you, today's guest

is certainly someone who will inspire you. He was a T-42, is now a T-61 Paralympic athlete,

which essentially means he's a double leg above knee amputee. However, he is an incredible

runner. He's won a total of nine gold

medals across the Paralympic Games, IPC World Championships and IPC European Championships. He's been a

world record holder in the marathon distance. He's ticked off an amazing challenge of 40 marathons

in 40 days across Great Britain. And he's got plenty of races lined up

in 2022 as well. He's also created his own event which you could be a part of. I'm here to tell us

more and just have a natter about all things running. It's the wonderful Richard Whitehead. Hello there.

Hi Jenny and you're definitely are motivating runners out on the road. I hear

lots of great feedback about your podcasts and not just the guests but also yourself and the

insight of actually just getting on the road, getting it done and yeah, thanks again for being

part of your podcast series. Oh, oh thank you such a nice thing to say

no it's great i know that you came on you're one of my first guess when it started

that's what i think it was i think it was just after peter andre i think

you were like oh yeah let's get rich after peter and And I'm like going, I don't know whether you're

expecting a bit of a song when I came to the studio or not, but I'm definitely a better runner than singer anyway. Well, I think I think you're probably a better runner than Peter Andre as well. So there we go, it's a win-win. It's so nice to chat to you again. And I know, look, I haven't seen you for a while. I did see you on the telly and hunted, though. Oh my goodness. That looked amazing. I don't know. If you're out running at the moment, if you don't know, there's a TV show on Channel 4 called hunted. And basically, it's like everyone watches it and goes, I could do this. But I mean, could you really when you're under pressure? Basically,

you have to go on the run, don't you? It's scary because you lose contact with family and friends,

all those electrical devices that we all have, whether it's your Garman, whether it's your watch

or your laptop. You have to have to give those in. And then you're chased by these ex-police S-A-S kind of special forces, individuals that hunt
