Today we are joined by Rich Lockwood, the 22 champion of the Run Rabbit Run 100, which happened in

Steamboat Springs, Colorado, just a couple weeks ago. Rich lives in Seattle, Washington.

And ever since I have lived here in the Northwest, Rich's name has always been one of those names

you hear around the local community, a low profile but super strong local athlete. I met Rich

in person at the Y East Tower 100K in July 2021, where he won by a huge margin and I have been

monitoring his evolution ever since.

This season has been a bit of a breakout for Rich.

He was second to David Laney at the Gorge Waterfalls 100K in the spring.

He then won the Tushers 100K in Utah this summer before winning again at Run Rabbit, which was definitely the best

result of his career on a big stage. So it was great to get rich on the pod and learn a little

more about his story. In the episode, we talk about his background and experience with

sport, his work in the healthcare industry and how that's impacted

and we talk about some formative moments in his improvement as a competitive athlete. We talk about

a season, Ron Rabbit, goals for the future, and a lot more. Rich is one of the hottest free agents

on the market at the moment, a very good athlete who has a

really bright future. And I learned after we recorded that this was his very first podcast.
